Class: Junior

D.O.B:

Strengths: Good height and weight with a firm athletic build displaying good overall AA, he displays very good body control and balance, with good quickness, COD, lateral agility, and burst. In the pass game, Jevon Holland played most of his snaps as the slot CB in 2019. He has the versatility to play in the box, two-high and in the slot. He is good in man-to-man coverage vs TE's and is very physical in coverage and has good feet to mirror and match. He displays good range playing downhill. He shows very good pre and post-snap communication. He has very good route anticipation and understanding of route concepts when playing zone. He displays outstanding ball skills and plays with great timing at the catch point. He is very good in zone coverage and is very aware in underneath zone when reading the QB's eyes. He is also a good blitzer. In the run game, Holland displays very good mental processing to K&D run. He is very disciplined especially when containing the edge. He does a very good job of condensing down and making TFL's. He is a strong and consistent tackler. Overall, he is very good vs the run as he stays in good positioning and can stack and shed TE's with good ability. He can beat blocks with quickness as well. Very good competitive and physical toughness to mix it up in the run game and he plays with high effort. He excels as an overhang player as well. Safeties need to be able to play the box, man-to-man in the slot and deep. You need at least two of these things to be successful and Holland is the first two.
Weaknesses: He can struggle playing off-man vs faster WR's, he opens his hips to early and will allow the WR's into his blindspot. He does not have a ton of experience playing deep as a safety. He is not built to play single-high. He has some range but not enough to play single-high consistently.
Summary: Jevon Holland is a good safety prospect that can play in the box and in the slot. He has the FBI, AA, and ball skills to be highly effective at the next level. He makes an impact on multiple levels and in the run and pass game. He is also a very good special teams player and will make an impact there right away. If he can play with more aggressiveness and shows some good play at free safety next year, he could be a top prospect.
Grade: Top-3 Safety Prospect
